Hi, I’m Charlie – The Seamstress! 

This is me all glammed up at a wedding in a dress I made (the fabric is secretly covered in sewing-themed prints — though you’d never know from the picture!).

I’m 40(ish), happily married, and mum to a 10-year-old son — plus a whole menagerie of pets. I love wine and chocolate, and I’ll admit it: I can’t stand avocado (controversial, I know!).

In 2023, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, but thankfully it was caught early and I’m now all clear. Each year I take on a challenge to raise funds for cancer charities — it keeps life interesting and meaningful. Having been through my own health journey, I understand that we all have body hang-ups or medical issues. My fittings are always designed to make you feel comfortable, supported, and celebrated — no judgement, just understanding.

My workspace is a dedicated, air-conditioned studio in my garden — which means a very short commute and a space designed entirely for creativity.

I began my journey in bridal wear straight out of school with an apprenticeship in a bespoke bridal shop. Over 24 years later, I still love what I do! Along the way, I’ve earned multiple City & Guilds qualifications in clothing manufacture, tailoring, and pattern cutting.

What I love most is finding creative solutions — whether that’s designing something completely unique, solving a tricky fit issue, or adding that final detail that makes a gown truly yours.

I believe every dress should fit beautifully and make you feel amazing. After all, this is the dress you’ll always remember — the one you wore on the first day of your happily ever after.
